Linda Sasahara Noack reclaimed her birth name, Sasahara, when she chose to break with her past career and journey into art. The name seemed to help her in her decision to donate the suits and high heels of a different lifestyle. She has studied at UTEP, the community college; learned from Master’s at the International Pastel Conventions; joined EPAA, the Pastel Society of El Paso, and trained with Bill Herring at his personal invitation. She joined the Plein Air Painters for the camaraderie of the artists she admired, but plein air painting remains her greatest challenge.
Linda enjoys working in pastel, oil, acrylic, metals (jewelry), and is always drawn to pencils. She has won awards for her pastels in El Paso and an honorable mention in the National Arts Program in Los Angeles. The Sasahara Gallery became her primary outlet for 2010 – 2013 and was sold in anticipation of an aborted move out of the area. Her work is owned by collectors both in the US and abroad. During the past year, Linda’s major art project combined her love of animals with art in a fundraiser in which she painted cat portraits to hang at the Humane Society of El Paso.
